COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business Management program with a foundation year at Newcastle Business School is designed to provide a comprehensive, flexible, and career-focused education in business. The foundation year equips students with essential skills in professional development, responsible management, business environment and functions, information management, entrepreneurship, and leadership, establishing a strong base for further study. In the first year, students build on this foundation with modules covering financial decision making, business analysis, marketing, professional practice, and understanding organisations and the economy. The second year expands knowledge with core modules in human resource management, responsible business, and management research, while offering a wide range of optional modules including financial markets, taxation, marketing, supply chain management, digital business, international business, entrepreneurship, and study abroad opportunities, enabling students to tailor their learning to personal and career goals. The program also provides work placement options in the third year, either in the UK or abroad, allowing students to gain real-world experience and global exposure. The final year focuses on strategic leadership, organisational transformation, and responsible management, alongside optional modules in finance, marketing, operations, ethics, and emerging business topics, as well as opportunities for advanced research, consultancy projects, and dissertations. Graduates leave with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical experience needed for diverse careers in business and management, equipped for global and ethical challenges.
