COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business and Entrepreneurship (Extended Degree) BA (Hons) program offers a practical and comprehensive approach to developing entrepreneurial skills alongside a strong foundation in business knowledge. The foundation year introduces students to professional development, business environment and functions, business information management, entrepreneurship and innovation, responsible business, and leadership and management projects, preparing them for practical and professional challenges. In Year 1, students build on this foundation with financial decision making, preparing for professional practice, business, economy and society, introduction to marketing, introduction to entrepreneurship, and student enterprise activities focused on building a venture team, with academic language support provided for international and EU students. Year 2 develops creativity, innovation, entrepreneurial management, and entrepreneurship theory, alongside core modules in business research and analysis and practical enterprise development, with optional modules including born global enterprise, international digital economy, and recognising entrepreneurial opportunities. Year 3 offers flexible options for practical experience through work placements, study abroad, blended placements, or business start-up placements, allowing students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. In Year 4, students focus on advanced entrepreneurship topics including contemporary issues in entrepreneurship, digital entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial ecosystems, family business studies, business ethics, and leading a venture, with optional research or consultancy projects. Across all years, the program emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration, and venture development, equipping graduates to launch businesses, work in start-ups, or take entrepreneurial roles in established organisations.
