COURSE CURRICULUM

The Architecture (Extended Degree) BA (Hons) program is structured over four years to develop a strong foundation in architectural design, theory, and technology. The foundation year introduces key concepts related to the built environment, including construction management, building use, pathology, and design, culminating in a final project that integrates these elements. In Year 1, students begin focused architectural studies through design projects, alongside introductory modules in theory and technology, helping them understand the creative and technical aspects of architecture. Year 2 builds on this with more advanced design projects and deeper exploration of architectural theory and technology, further developing critical thinking and practical design skills. Students also have the option to undertake a study abroad year in Year 3, providing valuable international experience and exposure to different architectural contexts. In the final year, students complete advanced design projects and continue their studies in theory and technology, allowing them to refine their individual design approach and professional understanding. Throughout the program, there is an emphasis on combining creativity with technical knowledge and contextual awareness. Overall, the course prepares students with the skills and experience needed for a career in architecture or further professional training.
