COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Design and Marketing (Extended Degree) BA (Hons) program is a comprehensive three-year course, preceded by a foundation year, designed to equip students with creative, technical, and professional skills for the fashion industry. The foundation year introduces essential design knowledge through modules in design studio skills, design contexts, specialisms, major projects, and portfolio development, helping students build confidence, creativity, and practical abilities. In Year 1, students develop core skills in experimental processes, fashion design and marketing, fashion photography and illustration, trend forecasting, product design, and introductory fashion practice, with optional language support for international and EU students. Year 2 focuses on emerging industry issues, fashion futures, professional practice portfolios, translating concepts into products, and market research and enterprise, combining creative design with strategic marketing insight. In Year 3, students tackle contemporary challenges in fashion and design, develop and realize their final major projects, and prepare professional portfolios and promotional materials, demonstrating technical mastery, creative innovation, and industry readiness. The program emphasizes hands-on practice, project-based learning, research, and industry engagement, enabling students to understand market trends, develop distinctive products, and communicate their ideas effectively. Graduates are prepared for careers as designers, marketers, entrepreneurs, and innovators in the global fashion sector, equipped with both creative vision and professional expertise.
