COURSE CURRICULUM

The Fashion Communication (Extended Degree) BA (Hons) program is a four-year course that combines creative, technical, and professional skills to prepare students for careers in the fashion communication and creative industries. The foundation year provides a broad introduction to design through modules in design studio skills, design contexts, design specialisms, major projects, and portfolio development, helping students build confidence, creativity, and practical abilities. In Year 1, students develop core knowledge in experimental processes, fashion communication, styling, curation, brand promotion, content creation, and media, with optional language support for international and EU students. Year 2 expands on these skills, focusing on emerging issues in fashion, fashioning identities, advanced content creation, brand promotion, styling, and trend forecasting, encouraging students to integrate creative concepts with professional practice. Year 3 emphasizes advanced research, problem-solving, and project development, including contemporary challenges, a critical research project, live or competition briefs, and final major projects, allowing students to demonstrate technical mastery, creativity, and professional readiness. Throughout the program, students engage with practical workshops, multimedia production, and real-world briefs, equipping them with the skills needed to communicate fashion effectively across multiple platforms. The course fosters creativity, strategic thinking, and industry experience, preparing graduates to work as innovative professionals, collaborators, and leaders in the dynamic global fashion sector.
