COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business and Human Resource Management program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to manage and develop people as a key organisational asset. The foundation year introduces students to professional development, business environment and functions, business information management, entrepreneurship and innovation, responsible business, and leadership and management projects, providing a solid grounding in business principles and professional practice. In Year 1, students build on this foundation with modules in financial decision making, business analysis, preparing for professional practice, business, economy and society, people, management and organisations, and introduction to marketing, alongside academic language support for international and EU students. Year 2 focuses on human resource specialisms, including resourcing and development for diversity, HR analytics and the labour market, reward and performance, management research and analysis, employment law, and progressing professional practice, with an optional study abroad semester for international exposure. In Year 3, students explore advanced topics such as strategic leadership for responsible organisational change, transforming self and organisations, and contemporary issues in business and management, with additional optional modules in employment relations, futures of work, ethics in business, and popular culture and work. Optional research, dissertation, and consultancy projects further develop analytical and practical skills. Across all years, the program combines academic study with applied learning, preparing graduates for strategic roles in human resource management, organisational leadership, and broader business contexts.
