COURSE CURRICULUM

The Product Design BA (Hons) program is structured over three years to progressively develop students’ creative, technical, and critical design abilities. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Product Skills, Product Design 101, and Product Design Playground, while also exploring theoretical aspects in Design History and Theory and Design Factors. The Interchange module encourages experimentation with creative processes, helping students develop innovative thinking. In Year 2, the focus shifts toward applying design knowledge to contemporary challenges, with modules like Designing for a Complex World, Designing Interactions, and Going Live, which emphasize user-centered design and real-world application. Students also explore emerging issues in the field and refine their research and analytical skills through Design Insights and Contemporary Product Design. By Year 3, students engage with advanced topics and future-focused design challenges, collaborating on projects and participating in competitions to enhance professional experience. The course culminates in a substantial Final Major Project, supported by Design Process and Critical Evaluation, allowing students to demonstrate their skills and creative vision. Throughout the program, optional academic language support is available for international students, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
