COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Design BA (Hons) program is structured over three years to develop students’ creative, technical, and research skills in digital design. In Year 1, students build a strong foundation through core modules such as Interchange 1 – Experimental Processes, Visual Design Principles, Design for Screen, UX Design Principles and Practice, Code. Design. Make, and Personal Research Project 1, allowing them to explore creative methods while gaining practical experience in web design and user experience. Academic language support is also available for international and EU students. Year 2 advances this knowledge by focusing on emerging technologies and applied design practices, with modules including Interchange 2 – Emerging Issues and Practices, Sound and Motion Principles, Data Visualisation, UX Research and Design Methods, Emerging Technologies, and Personal Research Project 2. This stage encourages experimentation with innovative tools and deeper engagement with research methods. In Year 3, students address contemporary challenges and future trends in design through modules such as Interchange 3 – Contemporary Challenges and Design Futures and Design and Innovation, alongside major independent work including a Research Project and Prototype and a Final Major Project and Exhibition. Across all years, the program emphasizes practical, studio-based learning, critical thinking, and portfolio development, preparing graduates for careers in digital design, UX/UI, and related creative industries.
