COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law degree is structured across three years to provide a rigorous foundation in legal studies while allowing flexibility through electives. In the first year, students study Constitutional Law, Contract Law, and Criminal Law, each paired with extensions and developments courses that place these subjects in wider social and legal contexts. Elective courses complement this core and allow for academic exploration. In the second year, the curriculum advances with key subjects such as Equity and Trusts, Tort Law, and their contextual extensions, alongside Legal Research and Advocacy, which develops practical skills in argumentation and analysis. Students also take electives to broaden or deepen their studies. The final year focuses on advanced and applied topics, including European Law and Property Law, with students choosing between a Legal Research Symposium or a dissertation as their final project. A wide range of elective options is available, such as Competition Law and Policy, Criminology, Employment Law in an International Context, Jurisprudence and Contemporary Legal Theory, and Law and Innovation: Digital, Online and Technology Law. This progression combines foundational knowledge, critical analysis, and practical skills, preparing graduates for legal practice, further study, or diverse careers requiring strong analytical and communication abilities.
