COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sustainability in the Anthropocene program focuses on key environmental issues, such as population growth, climate change, and the biodiversity crisis, within the framework of sustainable development. The Sustainability in the Anthropocene module explores the global environmental challenges posed by these issues through project-based learning, encouraging students to critically examine the complexity of sustainability. The Sustainable Decision Making module aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for making informed and complex decisions in the context of sustainability. It focuses on developing the ability to approach sustainability challenges from a decision-making perspective, addressing both short- and long-term implications. The Environmental Law and Governance module offers an in-depth understanding of environmental governance, exploring central theoretical approaches and principles that underpin environmental law and policy. The Research Methods module provides students with the essential qualitative and quantitative research techniques necessary for their MSc research project, including exposure to various data analysis software tools like Minitab, SPSS, Excel, GIS, and Nvivo. This ensures students are prepared to handle complex data in their research projects. Finally, the Research Project module provides an opportunity for students to engage in original and independent research in sustainability and environmental sciences. Students will integrate theoretical knowledge with practical expertise to investigate and address real-world environmental challenges, providing them with a platform for contributing to the field and making a meaningful impact. Through a combination of theoretical learning, decision-making, research methods, and practical experience, students are well-prepared to tackle contemporary sustainability challenges.
