COURSE CURRICULUM

The modules in this program are structured to provide students with advanced knowledge and practical skills essential for careers in sports therapy and rehabilitation. The Client Assessment and Anatomy module enhances students' understanding of anatomy, focusing on the musculoskeletal system's structure and function, while developing advanced skills in clinical assessment and reasoning. Soft Tissue Therapy & Pathology builds on this by teaching students soft tissue therapy techniques for injury assessment and recovery, emphasizing the mechanisms of injury and the healing process. Therapeutic Skills further expands on soft tissue techniques, equipping students with a range of advanced modalities to treat injuries, reduce pain, and promote recovery, enhancing their ability to apply therapeutic interventions in clinical settings. Rehabilitation and Programming addresses muscle imbalances and performance risks, teaching students how to design and implement effective corrective exercise programs that promote rehabilitation and performance gains while minimizing the risk of re-injury. The Placement module allows students to apply their learning in real-world settings, fostering critical reflection and problem-solving skills through practical experience. Research Methods provides the knowledge necessary for conducting research, guiding students in literature review, research design, and statistical analysis, preparing them for their dissertations. Finally, the Dissertation module supports students in conducting independent research in their field of practice, with peer learning and supervisory guidance throughout the process. These modules collectively prepare students to become skilled practitioners in sports therapy, capable of applying theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios while contributing to the field through research and evidence-based practice.
