COURSE CURRICULUM

The program focuses on equipping students with practical and theoretical knowledge in robotics, mechatronics, and digital manufacturing systems. The Digital Product Modelling and Visualisation module introduces students to modern techniques in digital product modeling, including the visualization of systems through technologies like VR and AR, and design strategies for digital manufacturing, such as additive manufacturing. The Robot Manipulation module provides students with the foundational concepts of robot manipulators, teaching them how to model, simulate, program, and operate robot arms. The Robot Control module delves deeper into controlling sensors and actuators in robotic systems, offering an understanding of different control techniques and their practical applications in mechatronics and robotics. The Mechatronic Systems Integration Group Project is a practical, collaborative module that allows students to apply their knowledge to design and integrate complex mechatronic systems, working with various technologies and subsystems. Machine Learning for Robotics introduces students to AI and machine learning techniques, focusing on their application in autonomous robots and similar devices, while also encouraging students to develop their own AI/ML systems. The Product Lifecycle Management and Industry 4.0 module explores how businesses can implement product lifecycle management and integrate Industry 4.0 technologies into their operations for greater value. The Individual Project serves as the culmination of the program, where students consolidate their learning and demonstrate mastery through independent research and development projects, applying project management techniques to real-world challenges. This combination of modules ensures students are well-prepared for careers in robotics, mechatronics, and digital manufacturing.
