COURSE CURRICULUM

The program offers a diverse range of modules focused on the intersection of technology, criminology, and digital forensics. The Digital Forensics and Incident Management module provides students with a thorough understanding of forensic investigations, emphasizing the relationship between digital forensics and technology, evidence management, and the impact of mismanagement. Students gain practical skills using industry-standard tools to remove electronic media and conduct investigations while ensuring evidential continuity. The Cybercrime and Society module introduces students to the study of internet-related crimes, cybersecurity, and the impact of cybercrime on society. It critically examines how cybercrime challenges existing criminological theories and criminal law while exploring prevention and detection methods. In addition, the module provides an understanding of the social implications of cybercrime. The Text Mining and Analysis module introduces students to contemporary text mining and analysis techniques, preparing them to analyze digital data and gain insights into human behavior, social sentiments, and inequalities. Students also learn about research design and ethics in social science research, using text-based methodologies like topic modeling and opinion mining. The Research Strategies in Social Sciences module equips students with skills in research design and methods, focusing on quantitative surveys, qualitative interviews, data analysis, and deconstructing conventional research approaches from a decolonial perspective.
