The Developing Effective Leadership and Management module is designed for individuals in formal or informal leadership roles in education. It focuses on the development of leadership skills and management strategies, which can be applied to real-world improvement projects in educational organizations. Similarly, the Developing Effective Teaching and Learning module is aimed at enhancing classroom practices. It includes regular portfolio tasks and an action inquiry task, delivered through blended learning, which explores pedagogy, systems, and structures of learning. The focus is on improving teaching strategies by reflecting on current research and innovating practice.The Developing Professional Practice in Education module is suited for those looking to enhance their professional development in education. It encourages reflective practice and helps individuals become self-managed learners, providing support and recognition for teachers. The Contemporary Issues in Education module identifies critical issues driving education policy and practice, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges shaped by societal and economic factors.As part of the final stages of the program, students must select from compulsory options to complete 60 credits. The Research Dissertation allows students to demonstrate their ability to conduct independent research, critically develop a complex area in education, and propose a research study with potential to improve practice. Alternatively, the Research Methodology in Education module provides a critical overview of various research methods, preparing students to undertake their final dissertation by exploring methodologies, data analysis techniques, and the philosophical and ethical underpinnings of educational research. The Dissertation, worth 60 credits, represents the final project, where students apply their research skills to propose, design, and analyze a practitioner study aimed at improving educational practice.
