COURSE CURRICULUM

The program begins with foundational modules that provide essential academic and practical skills. In Year 1, Academic Skills focuses on developing research methods, academic writing, and data analysis. Athletic Training & Conditioning introduces key health and fitness principles, equipping students with coaching skills for both individual and group settings. The Sport Science Fundamentals module explores basic scientific concepts related to exercise physiology, biomechanics, and psychology, applying them in practical settings. Additionally, Principles of Performance Analysis & Coaching develops an understanding of coaching theories, performance analysis, and video/data analysis, fostering leadership and communication skills.In Year 2, Sport Analytics & Psychology integrates performance analysis with psychological concepts, preparing students for applied practice. Physiology & Biomechanics provides a deeper understanding of the mechanics of human movement and physiological adaptations. The Research Methods module enhances skills in analyzing academic literature and conducting research, while Specialist Environments explores the needs of diverse populations, focusing on conditions like cardiac and metabolic diseases, and emphasizes digital literacy and practice-led learning.In the final year, Integrative Physiology & Biomechanics allows students to integrate physiological and biomechanical knowledge to analyze and evaluate sport performance and health. Human Performance focuses on monitoring physical and mental well-being in athletes, including nutrition, training load, and psychological factors such as injury and burnout. The Work-Based Practice & Employability module offers practical experience through a placement, helping students develop real-world problem-solving and reflective skills. The Dissertation module provides an opportunity for independent research, allowing students to delve deeply into a specific topic, applying research methods and demonstrating their academic and professional capabilities. This well-rounded curriculum ensures graduates are prepared for careers in sport science and rehabilitation.
