The "Academic Skills" module helps you develop essential research skills, including data collection, literature review, and academic writing. This prepares you for successful independent research and problem-solving throughout your degree. The "Athletic Training & Conditioning" module introduces key health and fitness concepts, allowing you to deliver effective training sessions and understand how to optimize sports performance. Additionally, the "Sport Science Fundamentals" module provides a scientific understanding of human movement, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and psychology, with a focus on applying this knowledge in practical settings. The "Principles of Performance Analysis & Coaching" module equips you with the theoretical concepts of performance analysis and coaching, enabling you to plan and evaluate coaching sessions, with a particular focus on analyzing performance through data and video.In the second year, you will further refine your skills and knowledge. The "Sport Analytics & Psychology" module teaches you how to collect, analyze, and present performance data while integrating psychological concepts to improve sports performance. "Physiology & Biomechanics" delves deeper into the physical principles of human movement, while "Research Methods" develops your ability to analyze academic literature and research methods. The "Games-Based Approaches to Physical Education and Coaching" module enhances your ability to deliver inclusive, progressive physical activities and coaching, emphasizing the application of key teaching standards and problem-solving in practical scenarios.The third year shifts toward specialized topics and real-world application. The "Pedagogy and Skill Acquisition in Physical Education and Coaching" module focuses on coaching philosophy and effectiveness, particularly in the development of young athletes in an inclusive environment. "Human Performance" provides insights into monitoring and optimizing athlete health and performance, including nutrition, injury prevention, and mental health issues. The "Work-Based Practice & Employability" module prepares you for the workplace by offering a mandatory placement, allowing you to apply your learning in a professional environment and develop essential employability skills. Finally, the "Dissertation" module provides an opportunity for independent research, allowing you to explore a topic in-depth and apply your academic and practical knowledge to a substantial study.
