COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year, you will develop foundational skills in fashion communication, photography, styling, and art direction through a series of workshops and collaborative projects. The Communication Skills module will enhance your abilities in creating industry-relevant content, whether in illustration, graphic design, fashion communication, or digital media. Fashion History and Social Identity introduces you to the cultural and social meanings behind fashion across global traditions, encouraging the exploration of historical archives and research methodologies. Creative Workshops will expose you to various design disciplines, such as digital design, photography, and video editing, helping you build a diverse set of practical skills applicable across different creative fields.In the second year, the focus shifts to industry practice, where you will work on live briefs with industry partners and gain real-world experience through a placement module. The Fashion Communication Practice module allows you to specialize in an area such as styling, costume design, photography, or art direction, applying your skills to an industry-focused project. Fashion Cultures and Social Responsibility explores critical concepts in contemporary fashion, including sustainability, equity, and cultural development, providing you with a responsible and informed approach to the fashion industry. Fashion Internships offer hands-on experience, helping you acquire skills and competencies essential for career progression. The Industry and Audience module further enhances your industry exposure, focusing on creating fashion solutions targeted to specific market segments and exploring virtual fashion.In the final year, you will work on self-directed projects, developing a personal portfolio and gaining deeper expertise in your chosen field of fashion communication. The Fashion Communication Portfolio module will help you showcase your creative outputs, while Production and Development will allow you to create projects that reflect your understanding of industry standards. The Research and Concepts module provides the opportunity for self-directed research and the development of innovative projects, considering ethical practices within the global fashion community. Finally, the Visual Cultures Research Project will help you produce a substantial research project, building on your acquired knowledge and preparing you for professional practice or postgraduate study.
