COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA Business Management (Human Resource Management) program at Middlesex is structured over three years to provide a comprehensive understanding of business alongside specialist HR knowledge, combined with extensive practical experience. In the first year, students develop foundational skills in key business areas through compulsory modules in data and digital technologies, financial performance management, global management, and marketing theory and practice. The second year builds on this foundation, focusing on innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability, management analytics and visualisation, operations and supply chain management, and resourcing and talent management, helping students develop both analytical and people management skills. In the final year, students deepen their strategic and leadership capabilities through compulsory modules in business strategy, global human resource management, and organisational psychology and leadership. Practical learning is reinforced through substantial work-based components, including a compulsory work placement and work placement portfolio, providing hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply HR and management knowledge in real-world organisational settings. Optional modules in the final year, such as applied projects, business start-up, consultancy projects, or additional work internships, allow students to tailor their studies to their career goals. This structure ensures graduates develop a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, practical expertise, and professional skills, preparing them for careers in human resource management, talent development, and broader business management roles.
