COURSE CURRICULUM

The course spans three years, focusing on developing key skills in 3D animation, CG pipelines, and industry practices. Year 1 introduces the basics of animation and visual communication. Through modules like Animation Production, students learn to create short animations while exploring movement, aesthetics, and representation. Creation and Ideation focuses on storytelling and cinematic language, enhancing critical thinking and creative development. Techniques and Practices I and II teach industry-standard software, drawing, anatomy, and image manipulation, building a foundation for artistic production. In Year 2, students advance to more technical and concept-driven projects. Asset Creation focuses on producing CG assets for games and films, while Character Building & Animation covers the full workflow of 3D character creation and movement analysis. The Cinematics module introduces motion capture and virtual production, merging traditional film techniques with real-time rendering. Worldbuilding encourages the development of complex, narrative-driven worlds for various mediums. By Year 3, students apply their skills in major projects, collaborating on ambitious personal or group projects that simulate industry scenarios. The Pre-Production and Production modules emphasize project management, professional standards, and team dynamics, with a focus on creating portfolio-ready work. Portfolio Enhancement guides students in curating a personal showreel tailored to their specialization, while Practice and Research fosters in-depth exploration and technical experimentation within their chosen field. The course culminates in a comprehensive industry-facing portfolio, preparing students for successful careers in animation, games, and film.
