COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in User Experience Design is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in human-centred design and practical experience across two semesters. In the first semester, students complete compulsory modules in Experience Design, Usability Principles and Practice, and Understanding People, Behaviours and Context. These modules equip students with essential knowledge and skills in user experience, including research methods, usability, accessibility, and the analysis of human behaviour in diverse contexts. The second semester focuses on applied learning through the compulsory Industry Project, which allows students to work on real-world challenges and gain professional experience. Depending on the award pathway, MA students complete Generative Research and Prototyping for the Design Major Project, while MSc students undertake Evaluative Research and Prototyping for the Design Research Project, enabling them to consolidate research and design skills through evidence-based projects. Additionally, students can choose an optional module from Interaction and Immersive Futures, Disruptive Interaction Design, or Design for Inclusive Experiences, allowing them to specialise in emerging areas of UX design and explore innovative methods. Across both semesters, the program develops expertise in interaction design, prototyping, immersive technologies, storytelling, teamwork, and project management. Graduates are prepared for careers in user experience, interaction design, and related creative and technological industries, equipped to create impactful, user-centred, and innovative design solutions.
