COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Systems Engineering is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the design, management, and optimisation of complex technical systems. In the first semester, students undertake compulsory modules in Applied Systems Thinking and Systems Architecture, alongside the MSc Individual Project, which spans both semesters and allows for in-depth research and practical application. Students also select at least one optional module from Group A, choosing between Machine Learning – Principles and Applications for Engineers or Digital and Data Engineering, with the option to take both modules across the two semesters. Group B offers additional optional modules including Mechatronic System Design, Holistic Engineering, and Electromagnetic Systems for Defence, allowing students to tailor their learning to specific interests. The second semester continues with compulsory modules in Systems Design, Validation and Verification, and the Group Systems Project, which focuses on collaborative problem-solving in real-world scenarios. Optional modules in this semester can be selected from Group B, including Modelling, Simulation and Visualization for Engineering and Enterprise and Capability Engineering, enabling further specialisation. By combining core systems engineering principles, applied technical skills, and opportunities for project-based learning, the program equips graduates with the expertise required to manage complex engineering systems, meet industry demands, and pursue advanced careers in a wide range of engineering and technology sectors.
