COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Sustainable Water and Climate Resilience is structured to provide a strong foundation in understanding and managing water and climate challenges over two semesters. In the first semester, students study core modules including Research Methods, Water and the Natural Environment, Hydrometeorology for the Climate Emergency, and Climate Futures, each worth 15 credits. These modules equip students with essential research skills and a thorough understanding of the interactions between water systems, climate, and the environment. In the second semester, the program focuses on applied and technical expertise through compulsory modules such as Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilience, Geographic Information Systems and Data Management, Disaster Risk Management, and Flood Modelling and Management. These modules emphasize practical approaches to managing water-related hazards, using innovative tools and techniques to enhance climate resilience. By combining theoretical knowledge with applied learning, the program ensures students develop the analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills necessary to address global water and climate challenges. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in water engineering, environmental consultancy, and climate resilience planning, with the ability to design and implement sustainable strategies that mitigate risks, support communities, and promote environmental stewardship in a changing climate.
