COURSE CURRICULUM

The Sustainable Sport Business master’s program is structured over three semesters, combining compulsory and optional modules to provide a comprehensive understanding of sustainability in the sport industry. In the first semester, students engage with core topics such as Sustainability and Sport and Grand Challenges, each worth 15 credits. They also select from optional modules, choosing between Sport Business Statistics and Analytics or Leadership, Diversity and Change in the Sport Industry, as well as either Sustainable and Resilient Development or Sport, Politics, and Diplomacy, allowing for tailored learning aligned with personal interests. The second semester continues to build expertise with compulsory modules in Research and Insight in the Sport Industry and Sport Ecology, which provide practical skills and theoretical knowledge for addressing environmental and socio-economic issues in sport. Students further choose optional modules, selecting one from Sport Public Relations and Communication, Leadership Development in Sport, or Corporate Social Responsibility, and one from Collaborative Project or Sport Integrity, fostering both applied learning and ethical understanding. The final semester focuses entirely on the dissertation, a 60-credit project that enables students to conduct independent research on a sustainability-related topic of their choice within the sport sector. Overall, the program equips students with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical experience necessary to lead sustainable initiatives and drive positive change within the global sport industry.
