COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport Marketing is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the competitive global sport industry, with a focus on marketing, sponsorship, digital media, and communications. In Semester 1, students engage with core modules such as Sport Marketing, which covers strategic planning, branding, and consumer engagement, and Sport Business Statistics and Analytics, equipping students with quantitative tools to interpret data and support informed marketing decisions. Strategic Sports Sponsorship examines the management of partnerships, sponsorship deals, and their impact on business performance, while Grand Challenges encourages critical thinking about contemporary issues and innovations in sport. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with modules like Research and Insight in the Sport Industry, providing practical research skills and the ability to analyse market trends and consumer behaviour, and New Media and Analytics for Sport Business, which explores digital platforms, analytics, and audience engagement strategies. Sport Public Relations and Communication focuses on managing public image, media relations, and effective communication within sport organisations. The program culminates in a Dissertation, allowing students to apply their learning to a substantial independent research project. Optional modules, including Collaborative Project or Sport Integrity, provide opportunities to gain hands-on experience or explore ethical considerations in sport. Overall, the MSc equips graduates for careers in sport marketing, sponsorship, brand management, digital media, and communications.
