COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport Management, Politics and International Development provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the global sport industry, preparing them for careers in management, policy, governance, and international development within sport-related fields. In Semester 1, students engage with core modules such as Global Sport Marketing and Media, exploring strategies for effective promotion, branding, and communication in a global context, and The Politics of Sport, which examines the political structures, policies, and governance influencing sport worldwide. The Development of Sport module focuses on sport development initiatives and their social, cultural, and economic impacts, while Research Methods and Skills for Sport Managers equips students with essential analytical, research, and decision-making tools. Personal Development for Sport Management Employability supports the growth of professional skills to enhance career readiness. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with modules including Governing Sport, which analyses governance frameworks and regulatory practices, Sport and International Development, which examines sport’s role in global development initiatives, and Sport Integrity, addressing ethics, compliance, and fair practice in sport. Students continue to strengthen research skills and employability through ongoing modules, culminating in a Project that allows them to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. This program integrates academic theory, practical application, and industry engagement, preparing graduates for leadership roles and strategic positions across the global sport sector.
