COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport, Business and Leadership provides a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required for leadership and strategic roles within the sport industry. In Semester 1, students engage with core modules such as Leadership Models and Practices: Application to a Sport Context, which introduces key leadership theories and their application within sport organisations, and Leadership, Diversity and Change in the Sport Industry, which explores how leaders manage change and promote inclusion. The Grand Challenges module encourages students to tackle complex, real-world problems through critical thinking and innovation. Optional modules such as Strategic Sports Sponsorship, Sport, Politics, and Diplomacy, or International HRM allow students to tailor their learning to their interests and career goals. Semester 2 focuses on applying leadership and management concepts in practice, with compulsory modules including Critical Reflective Leadership and Sport Management, Leadership Development in Sport, and Research and Insight in the Sport Industry, all designed to enhance practical skills and analytical capabilities. The program culminates in a Dissertation, enabling students to undertake an independent research or applied project that integrates theory and practice. Optional modules such as Collaborative Project or Sport Integrity offer further opportunities for hands-on experience. Overall, the MSc prepares graduates for strategic, managerial, and leadership roles in sport, equipping them to make a meaningful impact in the industry.
