COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Sport Business and Innovation is designed to develop the skills and knowledge required to excel in the dynamic sport industry, with a strong emphasis on innovation, analytics, and entrepreneurship. In Semester 1, students build a solid foundation through core modules such as Sport Business Statistics and Analytics, which provides essential quantitative and analytical skills, and Sport Business and Innovation, which explores the principles of innovation and strategy in sport. The Grand Challenges module encourages students to tackle complex, real-world problems using creative and critical thinking approaches. Optional modules such as Strategic Sports Sponsorship or Sport, Politics, and Diplomacy allow students to focus on areas aligned with their career interests. Semester 2 focuses on applying these skills to practical and strategic contexts, with compulsory modules including Research and Insight in the Sport Industry and Business Models and Entrepreneurship in the Sport Industry, which enable students to analyse markets, evaluate business models, and develop entrepreneurial strategies. The program culminates in a Dissertation, allowing students to conduct an independent research or applied project that integrates learning across the course. Additional optional modules, including Internet of Things & Applications, New Media and Analytics for Sport Business, Collaborative Project, and Sport Integrity, provide opportunities for further specialisation and hands-on experience. Graduates are equipped to pursue careers in sport business, innovation management, consultancy, and entrepreneurship, combining analytical expertise with strategic and practical insight.
