COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Global Business Risk Management offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, evaluate, and respond to the diverse risks faced by organisations in an increasingly complex global environment. In Semester 1, students develop foundational knowledge through compulsory modules such as Comparative Management and International Business in Contexts, which examine organisational structures, strategies, and global business environments. Corporate Risk Management introduces methods and frameworks for assessing and mitigating financial, operational, and strategic risks, while the Grand Challenges module encourages students to explore major contemporary issues affecting businesses worldwide. In Semester 2, students continue to build their expertise with Accounting and Financial Management, Disaster Risk Management, and Research Methods, which provide practical tools and analytical techniques for evaluating risk and supporting decision-making. A major Dissertation allows students to conduct independent research, applying theoretical knowledge to real-world problems and developing critical analytical skills. Students can also tailor their learning through optional modules such as Collaborative Project, Corporate Governance, Comparative Political Economy, or Managing Sustainability, depending on their career interests. Together, these modules ensure graduates are well-prepared for careers in risk management, consultancy, and corporate strategy, with the ability to develop effective solutions to complex business challenges in dynamic international contexts.
