COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Public Policy program offers a diverse range of modules designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary policy issues and the global context in which they are addressed. Core modules such as Global Futures: Policy and Policymaking for a Sustainable World and Who’s Policymaking, How and Why? introduce students to the fundamental principles, actors, and processes involved in designing and implementing effective policies. Students explore the role of international and domestic stakeholders through modules like Global Players, Actors and Ecosystems, and examine complex societal problems in Grand Challenges. The program also addresses contemporary geopolitical and economic issues with modules such as Strategies and Challenges in the World Order and World Trade Law, providing insight into international relations, trade frameworks, and governance structures. Recognising the impact of technological advancements on policymaking, students engage with Artificial Intelligence and Society: Learning to Live with Intelligent Machines to understand how emerging technologies shape societies and influence policy decisions. Practical skills are developed through modules like Negotiation: Strategy, Skills and Leadership, equipping students to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus in complex policy environments. Together, these modules provide a balanced combination of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and interdisciplinary insight, preparing graduates to navigate and influence policy-making at local, national, and global levels.
