COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Psychology of Exercise Rehabilitation offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in rehabilitation sciences. In Semester 1, students begin with Quantitative Research and Further Research Methods and Project Preparation, providing a strong foundation in research design, data analysis, and scientific inquiry. Core modules such as Rehabilitation Sciences introduce key concepts, principles, and methodologies related to exercise-based rehabilitation, while Professional and Reflective Practice in Exercise Rehabilitation focuses on developing practical skills, reflective practice, and professional competencies essential for effective intervention and patient care. In Semester 2, students continue to build expertise through the continuation of Professional and Reflective Practice in Exercise Rehabilitation, deepening their applied skills in real-world settings. The Psychological Approaches to Rehabilitation module provides an in-depth understanding of the cognitive, emotional, and behavioural factors that influence the rehabilitation process, enabling students to consider the holistic needs of individuals in recovery. The program culminates in a substantial Research Project in Sport, Health and Rehabilitation, allowing students to apply their learning to investigate a scientific question or real-life issue, develop critical analysis skills, and gain hands-on research experience. Together, these modules equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for careers in exercise rehabilitation, research, or related health professions.
