COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Exercise Physiology and Sport Nutrition offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for careers in sport, exercise, and health sectors. In Semester 1, students build a strong foundation through compulsory modules such as Quantitative Research, which develops essential research skills, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, and Physiology of Sport and Exercise, both of which provide in-depth understanding of the physiological and nutritional demands of training and performance. These modules equip students with the knowledge necessary to analyse the interactions between diet, metabolism, and exercise. In Semester 2, students undertake a substantial Research Project in Sport, Health and Rehabilitation, allowing them to apply theoretical concepts to a real-world research context and gain experience in scientific investigation. Additional compulsory modules include Sport and Exercise Nutrition and Laboratory Techniques in Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, which focus on hands-on application of laboratory methods and experimental techniques. Students can further personalise their learning by selecting optional modules such as Applied Sport and Exercise Nutrition or Applied Sport and Exercise Physiology, enabling them to specialise in areas aligned with their career goals. The program’s combination of research, theory, and practical training equips graduates with the expertise and skills required to excel as practitioners or researchers in exercise science and nutrition.
