COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in International Financial and Political Relations is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of global finance, politics, and governance, preparing them to analyse and respond to complex international issues. In the first semester, compulsory modules include Financial Globalization, Globalization: Key Debates and Issues, and International Politics: Issues and Policies. These courses introduce students to the dynamics of global financial networks, critical debates surrounding globalization, and the policy frameworks that shape international political and economic interactions. The second semester builds on this foundation with modules such as Corporate Finance for Non-Specialists, The Global Financial System under Climate Change, Research Design and Practice, and Governing Crises, which develop practical, analytical, and research skills while exploring contemporary challenges such as climate-related financial risks and crisis governance. The program culminates in a substantial Dissertation in International Financial and Political Relations, allowing students to conduct in-depth research on a topic of relevance, synthesising theoretical knowledge with applied analysis. By combining rigorous academic study with practical and research-based learning, the program equips graduates with the expertise to navigate and influence the complex interplay between finance and politics. Graduates are prepared for careers in international finance, policy, consultancy, and roles that require strategic insight into global economic and political systems.
