COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Environmental Monitoring, Research and Management offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the technical, analytical, and professional skills required to address complex environmental challenges. In the first semester, students focus on foundational subjects including lake research and management, GIS applications for environmental management, hydrometeorology in the context of climate change, and tools for river research and management. These modules develop practical competencies in monitoring, data collection, and spatial analysis, ensuring graduates can assess and manage diverse environmental systems. The second semester advances these skills through modules on research and professional practice, research-informed environmental management, geospatial risk modelling, and environmental monitoring of wind. Emphasis is placed on integrating scientific knowledge with practical problem-solving, preparing students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. Central to the program is a dissertation project, where students undertake an in-depth research investigation, applying field, laboratory, and analytical techniques to a specific environmental challenge.
