COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Diplomacy, International Politics and Trade offers a comprehensive exploration of the intersections between global politics, diplomacy, and international economic relations. The program provides students with a deep understanding of how states and organisations navigate complex global challenges, manage diplomatic negotiations, and respond to evolving geopolitical and economic landscapes. In the first semester, students develop foundational knowledge through core modules on diplomacy in the digital world and grand challenges, alongside optional modules such as negotiation, world trade law, sport and politics, or foreign investment law, allowing them to tailor their learning to specific interests. The second semester focuses on global economic dynamics, strategies and challenges in the world order, and advanced research through the dissertation, supported by further optional modules exploring cities in diplomacy, peace and conflict transformation, sustainable development, comparative political economy, or practical collaborative projects and field trips. Students gain practical skills in negotiation, strategic analysis, and policy evaluation while critically examining the economic and political consequences of contemporary global events. This holistic approach prepares graduates for careers in diplomacy, international trade, policy analysis, government, consultancy, and multinational organisations, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and experience to operate effectively across diverse political, cultural, and economic environments.
