COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Diplomacy, International Business and Trade offers students a comprehensive understanding of the intersection between global commerce and international relations. In the first semester, core modules such as Diplomacy in the Digital World and International Business in Contexts provide a foundation in how states and organisations navigate complex political, economic, and technological environments. Students also engage with pressing global challenges through the Grand Challenges module, while optional modules allow for deeper exploration into areas such as Global Strategy, Negotiation, and World Trade Law. In the second semester, the program focuses on the dynamics of the global economy and its constant evolution, supported by a research-led dissertation that encourages independent inquiry into key topics. Optional modules cover critical areas including strategies and challenges in the world order, the societal implications of artificial intelligence, trade law and sustainability, urban diplomacy, corporate governance, and comparative political economy, allowing students to tailor their learning to their career goals. Through this combination of theoretical grounding, practical analysis, and research, students develop the skills to understand international markets, manage political and economic risk, and contribute to effective business decision-making. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in international business, trade policy, consulting, or diplomatic and governmental roles, equipped to navigate complex global environments.
