COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Diplomacy and International Relations equips students with the knowledge and skills to navigate and influence the complex international landscape. In the first semester, students engage with core topics such as diplomacy in the digital world, negotiation strategies and leadership skills, alongside modules addressing grand global challenges. Optional modules allow students to tailor their learning by exploring areas such as the intersection of sport, politics and diplomacy or international business in diverse contexts. In the second semester, the focus shifts to international relations and security in an era of polycrises, supported by a substantial dissertation project that enables students to conduct independent research on a topic of their choice. Additional optional modules allow exploration of contemporary issues including global strategies, media and social movements, AI in society, urban diplomacy, peace and conflict transformation, and sustainable development research methods. Collaborative projects and field trips, including learning from the Global South, provide practical, real-world insights into international affairs. Throughout the program, students develop analytical, strategic, and practical skills, gaining a critical understanding of global dynamics, digital diplomacy, and negotiation processes. Graduates are prepared for careers in diplomacy, international organisations, governmental and non-governmental roles, policy analysis, or further academic research in international relations.
