COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Cyber Security and Data Analytics provides a rigorous and flexible curriculum designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address the complex challenges of the digital world. In the first semester, students build a strong foundation through modules in programming fundamentals, applied cryptography, principles of artificial intelligence and data analytics, and the exploration of grand challenges in technology. These modules ensure that students develop both the technical skills and analytical thinking necessary to understand and manage complex cyber systems. In the second semester, the program deepens expertise through modules in cybersecurity and forensics and advanced big data analytics, enabling students to protect digital assets, investigate cyber incidents, and derive actionable insights from large-scale data. A substantial dissertation provides the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to a practical research project, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent research skills. Optional modules allow for further specialisation, such as exploring information systems security, the societal implications of AI, collaborative projects, or cloud applications and services. By combining core technical skills with applied analytics and research experience, the MSc prepares graduates to enter a wide range of roles in cybersecurity, data analytics, AI, and related fields, ensuring they can meet the demands of the evolving digital economy.
