COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Cyber Resilience at Loughborough University offers a structured and in-depth approach to understanding, preventing, and managing cyber threats while ensuring continuity of critical services. In the first semester, students engage with foundational concepts, exploring the principles of cyber resilience, cyber risk management, applied cryptography, and the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing resilience. These modules provide a solid grounding in both the technical and strategic aspects of cyber security, preparing students to assess vulnerabilities, anticipate potential threats, and develop robust defence strategies. The second semester builds on this knowledge with a focus on practical application, covering network and system security, incident response, cyber attack and defence techniques, and professional ethics within the cyber domain. The program integrates theoretical understanding with hands-on learning, enabling students to develop the skills needed to respond to real-world cyber challenges effectively. By combining technical, organisational, and ethical perspectives, the MSc equips graduates to operate across the full spectrum of the cyber domain. Graduates will be prepared for careers in industry, government, or consultancy roles, capable of designing, implementing, and managing resilient digital systems, and ensuring that organisations can maintain operations and recover quickly even under cyber-attack scenarios.
