COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Construction Project Management program at Loughborough University provides students with a thorough grounding in both the technical and managerial aspects of construction project delivery. In the first semester, students build essential research and analytical skills through modules such as Research Methods and the Research Dissertation, while gaining practical knowledge in Principles and Application of BIM, Principles of Project Management, and Principles of Design and Construction. This combination of modules ensures students understand the foundational principles of construction processes, project planning, and design integration. In the second semester, the program develops more specialised skills, with compulsory modules in Design Management, Sustainability in the Built Environment, and Management of Construction Processes and Techniques, which prepare students to manage complex projects efficiently while considering environmental and societal impacts. Students can further tailor their studies through optional modules such as Strategic Management for Construction and Engineering, Organisation and People, Construction Law and Contract Management, AEC Global Integrated Design Delivery, or Federated Building Information Modelling. Throughout the program, the integration of research-led learning and practical applications equips students with the skills to analyse, plan, and execute construction projects effectively. Graduates leave with the technical knowledge, management expertise, and strategic insight necessary to excel in professional construction management roles or pursue further research in the field.
