COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Construction Project Management with Building Information Modelling (BIM) at Loughborough University provides a comprehensive education in both the technical and managerial aspects of modern construction, with a strong emphasis on digitalisation and sustainability. In the first semester, students develop foundational knowledge through modules such as Digital Buildings in a Global Design Context, Principles and Application of BIM, Principles of Project Management, and Research Methods, while also beginning their Research Dissertation. This combination ensures that students gain both practical skills and a strong grounding in research techniques applicable to the construction sector. In the second semester, the focus shifts to advanced topics including Net Zero Building Design, Design Management, and Federated Building Information Modelling, alongside continuation of the Research Dissertation, allowing students to apply their learning to complex, real-world problems. Optional modules give students the flexibility to specialise in areas such as Management of Construction Processes and Techniques, Strategic Management for Construction and Engineering, Construction Law and Contract Management, or AEC Global Integrated Design Delivery, tailoring the program to their career ambitions. By integrating digital tools, sustainability principles, and project management expertise, the program prepares graduates to lead construction projects in a rapidly evolving industry and contribute to the development of efficient, sustainable, and digitally enabled built environments.
