COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Construction Management program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in both construction practices and project management. In the first semester, students engage with compulsory modules that cover research methods, the principles and application of building information modelling (BIM), design and construction fundamentals, and project management essentials, alongside the research dissertation. This foundation ensures that students understand both the technical and managerial aspects of construction projects. The second semester continues with the research dissertation while offering a flexible selection of optional modules, allowing students to tailor their studies to their career goals. Options include design management, sustainability in the built environment, management of construction processes and techniques, and federated BIM, along with further modules in strategic management, organisational behaviour, construction law and contract management, and global integrated design delivery. The program emphasizes the integration of technical expertise with leadership and strategic decision-making skills, preparing graduates to manage complex construction projects effectively. By combining applied learning, research, and industry-focused modules, students develop the capability to address contemporary challenges such as sustainability, social value, risk management, and technological innovation in construction. Graduates are well-positioned for leadership roles in construction firms, consultancy, and related sectors, or for pursuing further research in the field.
