COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Computing Conversion program provides a comprehensive introduction to the essential skills and knowledge required for a successful career in computing and digital technology. In the first semester, students gain a strong foundation in programming fundamentals, algorithms and data structures, and principles of artificial intelligence and data analytics, alongside exposure to grand challenges that highlight real-world applications of computing. This ensures graduates develop both technical expertise and an understanding of how computing solutions can address complex societal and industrial problems. The second semester builds on this foundation with modules in operating systems and a selection of optional modules, allowing students to specialise in areas such as cybersecurity, forensics, advanced programming, data visualisation, reinforcement learning, and cloud applications and services. The program includes collaborative projects that provide practical, hands-on experience, enabling students to apply their knowledge to real-world problems and develop teamwork, project management, and communication skills essential for professional practice. By combining rigorous theoretical training with applied learning, the course prepares students from non-computing backgrounds to enter a wide range of technology-driven industries, equipping them with the skills to thrive in careers such as software development, data analytics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, while remaining adaptable to emerging technologies and innovations.
