COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Applied Sport Performance Analysis program is structured to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of performance analysis in elite sport through a combination of theoretical and practical learning. In the first semester, students engage in modules focusing on the coaching process and applied performance analysis workflows, gaining a deep understanding of how performance data supports decision-making and athlete development. Alongside this, the Applied Sports Analytics and Visualisation module develops technical skills in data analysis and presentation, enabling students to create meaningful insights from complex performance data. A key feature of the first semester is the Applied Performance Analysis Placement in High Performance Cultures, which immerses students in real-world elite sport environments, allowing them to observe and contribute to team processes and performance strategies. In the second semester, students continue with coaching and workflow modules while undertaking the Applied Performance Analysis Placement focused on reflective practice and career development, providing practical experience and professional growth opportunities. Additionally, students study Research Methods for Sport Performance Analysis, equipping them with the skills necessary to design, implement, and critically evaluate research projects. This combination of applied placements, analytical training, and research methodology prepares graduates to work effectively in elite sport settings, supporting athlete performance, team development, and talent identification.
