COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Design and Branding program provides a comprehensive pathway for students to develop expertise in the strategic use of design within branding, preparing them for roles in brand strategy, design consultancy, and related industries. In the first semester, students engage with core modules such as Branding and Identity, Design Innovation, and Grand Challenges, which establish a strong foundation in understanding how design influences perception, communication, and organisational impact. Optional modules allow students to tailor their learning, exploring areas such as Strategy and Market Analysis, Promotional Practices and Cultures, or Creative Producing in the Digital Economy, adding depth to their understanding of contemporary branding contexts. In the second semester, the program continues to build applied skills through modules including Design Research, Design for Experiences, and Branding and Strategy, where students learn to create innovative, brand-driven solutions and critically analyse the effectiveness of design in commercial and cultural settings. The Collaborative Project encourages teamwork and practical application, simulating real-world design and branding challenges. The course culminates in a dissertation, enabling students to undertake an independent research or practice-led project that synthesises theoretical knowledge and practical skills. By combining strategic thinking, creativity, and analytical insight, this program equips graduates to influence brand development, design experiences, and drive innovation in dynamic professional environments.
