The BSc Sports Management degree offers a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required for careers in the dynamic sports industry. In the first year, students build a foundation in sport management, marketing, financial accounting, and organisational behaviour while developing academic, research, and vocational skills. Optional modules provide opportunities to explore broader aspects of sport, such as coaching or the social sciences, allowing students to contextualise management concepts within sporting environments. The second year deepens understanding through modules on human resource management, sport marketing, economic analysis, and accounting for managers, alongside research skills, sports law, and applied sport management practice. Optional modules enable students to focus on coaching or health-related aspects of sport, reflecting individual interests and career aspirations. In the final year, students undertake a substantial project and study sport policy, governance, strategic marketing, and strategic management of sports organisations and events, preparing them for leadership roles within the industry. Additional optional modules cover areas such as advanced coaching, leadership, contemporary sporting cultures, and sport and the environment, allowing students to specialise further.
