COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Sport and Exercise Science degree provides a thorough grounding in the scientific principles that underpin human movement and performance. In the first year, students build foundational knowledge in anatomy and physiology, biochemistry and cell biology, sport biomechanics and kinesiology, sport and exercise psychology, and essential academic and applied skills, establishing a strong basis for advanced study. The second year focuses on research methods, data analysis, and the physiological, psychological, and biomechanical aspects of sport and exercise, while offering options such as human nutrition, exercise metabolism, motor control, expert performance, and current themes in sport and exercise psychology. This stage allows students to deepen their understanding and tailor their studies according to their interests. In the final year, students complete an independent project to develop research and analytical skills, alongside optional modules that explore applied physiology, sport nutrition, advanced biomechanics, advanced motor control, applied exercise psychology, and the intersection of sport with climate action and nature. Across all three years, the degree integrates theory with practical application, preparing graduates for careers in sports science, coaching, health promotion, exercise prescription, and performance analysis. The program equips students with the knowledge, technical expertise, and critical thinking skills needed to address challenges in sport, exercise, and health contexts.
