COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Physics with Theoretical Physics degree combines a comprehensive study of core physics with advanced applied mathematics, preparing students to approach physical problems with a theoretical and computational mindset. In the first year, students develop foundational knowledge in Mathematics for Physics, Core Physics, and Computational Physics, alongside laboratory skills and an understanding of the scientific method and philosophy of science. This grounding provides the analytical and practical tools necessary for further study. In the second year, the curriculum advances into specialized areas such as Quantum Physics, Thermal and Statistical Physics, and Solid State Physics, while also emphasizing mathematical techniques including Probability Theory and Complex Analysis. Students further develop experimental and computational skills through laboratory modules and advanced simulation projects, integrating theoretical concepts with practical application. The third year focuses on independent and collaborative research through a group project and a final year physics project. Compulsory modules include Advanced Statistical Physics and High Energy Particle Physics, while optional modules allow students to explore differential geometry, dynamical systems, condensed matter, nuclear physics, photonics, and nanodevices. The program also offers opportunities for broader academic development through a university-wide language program. Graduates leave with strong problem-solving, analytical, and computational skills, equipped for theoretical research, scientific innovation, or postgraduate study in physics and related fields.
