COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mathematics and Accounting and Finance BSc (Hons) degree is structured over three years, offering a comprehensive blend of mathematical, financial, and business-related studies. In the first year, students build a strong foundation through modules such as Financial Accounting Fundamentals, Economics for Financial Studies, Introduction to Law, Principles of Finance, and core mathematical topics including Linear Algebra, Mathematical Methods, Probability, Statistics, and Mechanics. This mix develops essential analytical and quantitative skills while introducing key financial and legal concepts. The second year deepens this knowledge with continued study in accounting, economics, law, finance, and more advanced mathematics, ensuring students strengthen both their technical and business competencies. By the third year, the focus shifts towards integrating advanced concepts and applying them to real-world contexts. Compulsory modules include Management Accounting, Financial Reporting, Company Law, Financial Markets and Derivatives, Audit and Assurance, alongside higher-level mathematics such as Analysis, Probability Theory, Geometry, Groups, and Mathematical Methods. Students can also choose optional modules like Mathematical Thinking and Applied Statistics to tailor their studies.
