COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc Geography and Management degree offers a unique combination of physical and human geography with key management and business studies, providing a broad and versatile academic experience. In the first year, students gain core skills in academic and professional development alongside compulsory modules in finance, accounting, organisational behaviour, and human resource management, while also studying geography topics such as earth system science, environmental hazards, social and cultural geography, economic and political geography, and the practical applications of geography. The second year builds on this foundation with compulsory modules in organisation studies, marketing, management science methods, operations management, and the marketing mix, while optional modules allow students to specialise in areas like globalization, remote sensing and GIS, social difference, earth surface processes, and field-based studies. This balance ensures students gain both critical business knowledge and strong geographical expertise. In the final year, students take strategic management as a core module and can choose from a wide range of optional subjects, from climate change, conservation, and landscape evolution to business-focused topics like corporate finance, entrepreneurship, international HRM, and project management. With the option to complete a dissertation, this degree prepares graduates for careers spanning business, consultancy, environmental management, and public policy.
