COURSE CURRICULUM

Loughborough Business School’s Accountancy and Finance program is structured across three years to provide a thorough grounding in accounting, finance, and management principles, combined with practical and professional skills. In the first year, students study core subjects such as Financial Accounting Fundamentals, Economics for Financial Studies, Principles of Finance, and Introduction to Law, alongside modules in Organisational Behaviour, Ethics and Professional Skills, and Responsible Management Practice, while developing quantitative business skills. The second year builds on this foundation with Management Accounting, Digital Technologies for Accounting and Finance, Financial Markets and Derivatives Fundamentals, Financial Reporting, and Corporate Finance, alongside optional modules such as Operations and Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Data Analysis for Management, and Programming for Business Analytics. This combination of technical, analytical, and strategic knowledge equips students to tackle complex financial problems and decision-making. In the final year, students advance to modules such as Advanced Management Accounting, Financial Reporting: Theory and Practice, Ethics in Finance & Accounting, and Audit and Assurance, while having the opportunity to explore electives including Financial Risk Management, Strategic Management of Big Data, International Marketing, and Project Management. The program also includes a Work-Based Project, allowing students to apply their learning in practical settings. Overall, the course develops the technical expertise, professional skills, and practical experience required for a successful career in accounting, finance, and management.
